Cost: FREE! There is no charge to schools that wish to participate, but registration is required. Some financial aid to help defray the cost of bus rentals for schools outside of Dane County will be available.
On Monday, November 17th (8:15-12:15pm), in celebration of International Education Week, the Wisconsin International Outreach Consortium, WIOC, and International Reach at UW-Madison are sponsoring “World Appreciation Day Just for Middle Schoolers,” at Union South on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus.
This event will be organized as a mini-conference and is for middle school teachers and students only. Participants will attend a 30-minute welcome address and performance, followed by 3 short break-out sessions where they will learn about the languages, cultures, histories, politics, and traditions, of various countries.
The event is at capacity. We are no longer accepting registrations or additions to the waiting list.
UW-Madison faculty, graduate students, and academic staff with expertise in global health issues will provide weekly lectures and lead group discussions.
