Travel awards are available to support K-12 teacher participation at this conference. To apply for a travel award, please send the following information in an email to sksmith@wisc.edu: Name, Mailing Address, SSN, School Affiliation, Cost of travel.

Please also indicate the classes and grade(s) you teach and how international or area studies might help your curriculum.

Awards will be granted on a cost-reimbursal basis after the conference, althought recipients will be notified prior to the conference. Domestic, US-carrier airfare for a reasonably direct route will be reimbursed (recipients must provide a receipt). Depending on the availability of funds, lodging may also be reimbursed. All recipients must be registered for the conference.

East Asian Studies Travel Awards
The Center for East Asian Studies at the University of Wisconsin - Madison is pleased to announce that we have a limited number of travel awards to support attendance at two conferences being held simultaneously in Madison later this month:

National Outreach Conference, April 27-29, 2006 (http://wioc.wisc.edu/t6-2006/) and/or NCOLCTL (National Council of Less Commonly Taught Languages) Conference, April 27-30, 2006 (http://www.councilnet.org/conf/conf2006/2006-announce.htm).

These travel awards are for people who satisfy all 3 eligibility requirements below:

• faculty who teach courses related to East Asian languages or area studies or staff who conduct outreach related to East Asia
• at technical schools, 2 year colleges, small private liberal arts colleges , or UW-System satellite campuses
• in Wisconsin or nearby states in our region.

Awards will be granted on a cost-reimbursement basis after the conference. Driving mileage reimbursement or domestic, US-carrier airfare for a reasonably direct route may be reimbursed. Depending on the availability of funds, lodging may also be reimbursed. All recipients must pay the registration fee for the conference in question.
